Additional info: Family lore states that John A Johnson’s parents were born in Scotland.  Typical naming patterns of that era suggest that the immigrant’s name was Thomas.  John may have had a younger brother, Samuel.  Their mother died, the two boys were bound out, father disappeared during the War of 1812, or so says family legend.  Questions should be addressed to Doug Jones, the family historian.  Doug is available at either Thordog42@yahoo.com or mosesjones42@msn.com  Participant father Elvyn was the older brother of Doug’s maternal grandfather, Verle L.
