Zachariah Webb was the only child of Hiram Jackson Webb and Gillie Delila Tooten. He was born January 3, 1855, probably in Itawamba County, Mississippi. We do not know what happened to his father after 1860, so his childhood and youth are very clouded to us right now.
He married Mary Ann Warren on December 10, 1878 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Pontotoc was the county just to the west of Itawamba County before the Civil War. But Lee County sprang up between the two after the war. The Warrens were living in and around Pontotoc County since about 1841. They came there from Cannon County, Tennessee which was carved out of Warren County and Rutherford County and some others. The Warrens were most likely living in Warren County at it's inception which was 1807 but there are some lost records and all that can be proved is that they were there prior to Feb 1811. Prior to that, the earliest they have been found is 1804 in other counties.
The reason that Zachariah Webb came to Texas, probably, was that he came out here with the Warrens. He was real tight with his new family and lived near them for a longtime. The Warrens came first to Bell County where the Dawsons where but not because of the Dawsons but apparently they came out as a result of their association with the Barkley family back in Tennessee and Mississippi. The Barkleys came out because of their association with some Wilsons who settle an area somewhere near Bell County. Anyway, they came to Texas between December 10, 1878, when he married in Pontotoc, and December 1, 1879, when his first son, Walter J. Webb, was born in Texas.
They stopped off in Bell County first and then went to Coryell where he is on
the 1880 Census dated June 17. So, I quess it is possible that he was in Bell
County for awhile before moving on. Maybe, he lived with the Dawsons for
awhile or the Barkleys
They stopped off in Bell County first and then went to Coryell County, where he is on the 1880 census, dated June 17. So, it is possible that he was in Bell County for a while before moving on. Maybe they lived with the Dawsons for a while or the Barkleys. The 1880 census records them here living with Mary's parents:
They stayed in Coryell County for maybe a year or so then they packed bags and moved up into Sevier County, Arkansas. The reason they went to Arkansas is not fully known, but it is known that Alexander Warren, the father of Mary Ann, had a daughter who married a Mitchell and was living there and she might have died there. Sometime after 1890 they migrate back to Texas. So, they probably just loved the wide open spaces of West Texas because they stayed out there for a good while then moved from there down into South Texas to a place called Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas. The train was running by the 1900's and they probably went back and forth between San Patricio and Callahan County where they had property. They were most likely into cattle ranching among other things and moved around a bit.1880 Coryell County, Texas Census

Walter Jackson Webb
(md. Kelly Bockman)
Walter Jackson Webb was born December 1, 1879 either in Coryell or Bell County, Texas. He married Kellie Bockman December 31, 1905 in Callahan County, Texas near to the town of Clyde, if not right there in that town. He died February 13, 1920. Apparently, he caught a bad cold or flu virus and died from it. He probably had a bad case of pneumonia. Kelly Bockman was born September 2, 1886 and died on September 20, 1971. She is listed as Mrs. Veneta W. Scott. I assume the W. was for Webb. She lived out in Lamesa, Texas and died there then she was disinterred and move to the Clyde cemetery to be buried next to her first husband Walter. I think Kellie was married several times since Walter's death.
(md. Mary Alice Ellis)
Tweet Webb b. October 10, 1882 DeQueen, Sevier county, Atkansas. He married December 29, 1909 somewhere around San Marcos, Texas (not for sure) to Mary Alice Ellis. They moved out to California and I am not sure when, but while they were out there Mary Alice died "maybe of cancer" and then he remarried Bertha Zimmer. This is the line Molly Webb comes off of and she should be able to fill out that line for you. I need to get more information about them as well. Tweet Webb died September 17, 1950 in Chatsworth, California. I think that is in Yuba County.
Maude Gilila Webb
(md. George M. Kilpatrick)
Maud Gilila Webb b. January 29, 1885 in Dequeen, Sevier County, Arkansas. She married on December 3, 1905 to George M. Kilpatrick in Texas. I think the M. is for "Manan". Georege was born around 1884 in Texas per census. Maud died on February 8, 1962 in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas (Texas#18870) I have no further information about George M. Kilpatrick although I am sure the Kilpatrick family could be contacted and probably has a lot of information about this family.
Daisy D. Webb
(md. Mack Haines)
Daisy D. Webb b. November 16, 1886 in Dequeen, Sevier County, Arkansas. She married January 29, 1916 in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas Mack Haines Jr. She lived there her whole life and died there on May 13, 1967 (Texas#029261) I don't know when Mack died.
Annie Mae Webb
(died at age 14)
Annie Mae Webb b. May 21, 1888 in DeQueens ,Sevier County, Arkansas died November 16, 1894 in Coryell County, Texas. She is buried at the Weaver Chapel or Ames Cemetery.
Love Cleo Webb
(md. Arthur Gus Reed)
Love Cleo Webb b. December 5, 1890 in DeQueens, Sevier County, Arkansas married my grandfather Arthur Gus Reed (son of Jonathon Augustus Reed and Joannah or Joan E. Metcalf) in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas. She died on september 19, 1939 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. Arthur died November 23, 1959 in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas.
Zadie B. Webb
(md. Robert B. Smith)
Zadie B. Webb b. March 5, 1897 in Texas married Robert B. Smith on July the 22, 1915 in sinton, San Patricio County, Texas. She died on December 27, 1918 in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas (Texas#58339) I show Robert to be born in 1890 in Texas and died in 1948 in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas. I think Robert's father is a Charles L. Smith b.1857 Illinois and his wife Lilly b.1860 in Louisianna.
Carrie Lee Webb
(md. Thomas Warren Sheilds)
Carrie Lee Webb b. June 3, 1899 in Texas married Thomas Alva Shields. She died in Houston, Harris County, Texas November 1976.
