Information from Gena Ford, daughter, March 8, 2001:

Andrew Jackson Ford was foreman on a highway crew which was building a highway from Fulton.  He was killed along with a Mr. Gaddy when they went on horse to check out the site one day before work and it caved in with them.  It killed Ford instantly and Gaddy lived a little longer but also died.  Andrew smoked a pipe.

After her husband died, Haley continued to live on the land they owned in Itawamba County.  There were 160 acres there but land wasn't good so they followed Haley's oldest son Garrie to Arkansas.  They moved in either 1930 or 1931.  He had gone there with his best friend who was a Mr. Hughes.  Haley later died when "her stomach wouldn't digest food."  The family moved to California in about 1948 or 1949, after Haley died.

Children of Haley Lowery Ford and Andrew Jackson Ford
(note: all the children were born in the Clay Community of Itawamba County, Mississippi)

Middie Ford Mann Middie Ann Kate Ford (md. Curtis Weaver and Billy Mann)
Middie first married Curtis Weaver, but he was cruel to her and soon after they married, her mother came and got her and brought her home!  When the family moved to Arkansas, she went with them.  Out there, she married Billy Mann.  She did not have any children.  She lived to be 91 years old and passed away in 1990 in Modesto, California.

Garrie Ford Garrett "Garrie" Shelton Ford   (md. Pearl Mann)
When Andrew Jackson Ford (their father) died, Garrie was one of the main ones that looked over his brothers and sisters.  Lots of people thought he was their dad!  He moved to Blytheville, Arkansas to pick cotton with his friend, Mr. Hughes.  He and Pearl never had any children.  He eventually moved to California.  He passed away at the age of 51 in 1953 in San Joaquin County, California.

Bud Birch Ford (md. Bessie Ora Lail)
Bud went to Texas where he met Bessie Ora.  They had two children.  He would visit the family every few years though.  He was a real estate developer.  He passed away in 2001 in Modesto, California.

Bertha Bernice Ford (md. Wesley Hall)
Bertha Bernice married Wesley and had a boy and a girl before she passed away of leukemia.

Beulah Ford Beulah Belle Zorah Ford (md. Compton Allred)
Beulah had three children before she passed away of leukemia like her sister Bertha Bernice.  Two of Beulah's children died of the disease also.

Ruth Pearl Ford (md. Grady Bowers)
Ruth Pearl married Grady Bowers and had one daughter.  They moved to California and it was there, in 1995, that she passed away in Modesto at the age of 82.

John Ford John Edward Ford (md. Beulah Peach)
John Edward did not have any children.  He passed away in 1976 in Stanislaus County, California, at the age of 61.

Gena Ford Gena Mae Ford (md. Douglas Wilson)
Gena Mae lives in Stanislaus County, California, and has been very helpful in filling in much of the information on this branch of the family!
