Narcissa Jane Irvin was the first daughter born to Tillman Jefferson Irvin and Lettie Mahala Webb Irvin. She was born on August 9, 1861, somewhere in Alabama (probably modern day Lamar County). She grew up there and in Monroe County, Mississippi, just across the state line.
On December 29, 1879, in Monroe County, she married Horace Benton Sandlin, who was born on October 23, 1859, in Alabama. He was the son of Henry Haratio Race Sandlin and Mary Eliza Johnson Sandlin.
After their third child, the family moved to Sebastian County, Arkansas, between 1882 and 1884. They must have lived near the town of Hartford, since some of their relatives are buried there. It is near the Oklahoma border. They had thirteen children that we know of. At one point, Jane had triplets! But all three children died about the time they were ten years old, though not all at once.
Benton died on August 31, 1928, and is buried in Stigler Cemetery, Haskell County, Oklahoma. When Jane passed away on June 24, 1933, in Sebastian County, Arkansas, she was buried in an unmarked grave at Hartford Memorial Park in Hartford, Sebastian County.

Henry Arthur Sandlin (md.
Sarah Angeline Davis)
Henry Arthur had nine children of his own.
He lived in the Hartford area the rest of his life. He lived to be
66 years old, dying in 1947.
Nancy Jane Sandlin (died a few days after she was born)
James Andrew "Jim" Sandlin (md.
Florence Skelton, Sallie Alexander, and Mitta Lou Webb)
Jim had two children by Florence, none by Sallie,
and two that lived by Mitta Lou, though he also raised Mitta Lou's children
by her previous marriage. He lived in Poteau, LeFlore County, Oklahoma
and lived to be 76 years old, dying in 1961.
John
Wesley Sandlin (md. Louisa E.Skelton)
John lived around Hartford also. He had two
sons who also lived in the Hartford area. He died at age of 82, in
1968.
Minnie Myrtle Sandlin (md.
George A. Cosby)
Minnie Myrtle lived around Poteau, marrying at the
age of 32. She had at least one child and lived to the advanced age
of 85, when she passed away on January 17, 1973.
Ollis Sandlin (died at the age of ten)
Oather Sandlin (died at the age of ten)
Ossey Sandlin (died at the age of nine)
William Tillman Sandlin (md.
Attie Alexander)
William had two sons and a daughter. He died
very young at the age of 26, in 1917. He is buried in Hartford.
Pearl Eva Sandlin (md. Charles Vester Scott)
I have in my records that Pearl was last living in
Richmond, Virginia. She and Charles had seven children together. She
passed away in 1970, at the age of 78, and is buried in Santa Clara, California
with her husband.
Leona Emma Sandlin (never
married)
Leona Emma never married. She lived in Poteau, and
died in 1975, at the age of 81.
Luda Amberella Sandlin (never
married)
Luda also did not marry. She lived in Poteau,
and died in 1972, at the age of 75.
Luther Davenport Sandlin (never
married)
Luther did not marry either. He lived in Poteau,
and died in 1969, at the age of 71.
