The Will of Henry Hill

Grandfather of Robert Hill of Mason County, Kentucky

In the Name of God Amen.  I Henry Hill of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Farmer being weak and sick of Body but of sound mind & disposing memory do make this my Last Will and Testament in the Manner & Form following Vizt.  Inpremis my Will is that all my just Debts be paid & my Body buried after a Decent Christian like manner by my Executors hereafter mentioned as soon as conveniently maybe.  Item I give and bequeath to my Son John Hill that part of a Tract of Land called Park Hall that I hold containing fifty acres.  Item I give and bequeath all the rest of my personal Estate to be equally divided between my six sons & three daughters Vitz. Robert, Joseph, Henry Truman, Philip, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, Catherine & Ann.  And lastly I constitute & appoint my Son Robert Hill & Joseph Hill to have the Selling of my Personal Estate and so divide it equally among them all.

On the 24th Day of March 1773 came Thomas Johnson & Thomas Jones two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing and make Oath on the holy Evangelists Almighty God that they did see the Testator Henry Hill sign and Seal the said Will & heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament & at the Time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of a sound and disposing mind & memory and that they severally subscribed their Names as Witnesses thereto in the presence of the Testator & in the presence of each other.
