BIOGRAPHY: Family names and spouse are derived from HZJones Palatines in NY

BIOGRAPHY: The will of Blakert Whitenach Sr. of Morristown, N.J. was dated 30 Nov 1761 and probated 22 Oct 1777 (N.J. Wills: Lib. 19, p. 278). Pleichard Dieterich md. Anna/Ann (a family name coming down in the Bockoven family suggests she might have been Anna Henn, but more proof is needed) (HJ). The ch. of Pleichard Dieterich and Anna/Ann were:
Andreas (Will).
Pleichard (Will).
Johannes (Will).
Margaretha (Will).
Jean (Will).
Anna (Will).

Andreas Weidknecht was on the Safety Committee. There are no further records of the family until June 17, 1716, Anna Marie Weidknechten witnessed a Lutheran Baptism on the Raritan at Nine Mile Run, New Jersey. Anna Marie Weidknechten may have been Blakert Witenek's wife. Blakert Witenek's wife's name was Anna but no records of Blakert Witenek are in existence until about 1740.

BIOGRAPHY: BLACKERT WHITNAK

BIOGRAPHY: Blackert Whitnak's birth and marriage records have never been located. His relationship to Johannas Whitenaught is a mystery. Blakert may be Johannas' son by an early marriage or he may be a brother of Johannas and could have been born in America shortly after Andrea and Margaret Weidknecht's arrival in New York. Blakert Whitnak was not mentioned as being among the emigrants to America. Thus he probably was born in New York or New Jersey. His relation to Andreas and Margaret Weidknecht (the emigrants) seems to be close as he named his children after them--his eldest sone ws named Andreas, also he had a son John (Johannas) and a daughter, Margaret. If Blakert Whitnak was a son of Johanna Whitenaught who lived in the Sourland Mountain area, it would seem that they were estranged. No mention of his relationship to Johannas or any of Johannas' children was made by Blakert in his will dated Nov. 30, 1761 proved Oct. 22, 1777 (Trenton, N.J. Book 4 pages 278-281). Blakert could not write as his will is signed by his mark which was witnessed.

BIOGRAPHY: Blakert Whitnak's name was spelled in many variations, such as: Bliker, Blecker, Blakert, being the most usual form. The name Whitnak also was spelled in various forms, such as: Witenack, Whiteanack, Whitekenack adn finally Whitenack being the usual form. He was also known as "Eliakim"

BIOGRAPHY: The earliest date of his family is of his daughter Mary's birth record who was born July 7, 1740. It is quite possible that he was married at least 10 years prior to 1740 as he had 10 children at least. The church at New Vernon, Morris county, New Jersey burned down and perhaps most of Blakert Whitnak's family records were in that church.

BIOGRAPHY: Bliker Witenac was listed as a freeholder in Morristown, N.J. in 1752. He had a 1600 acre plantation at Logansville, Morris Co. His will is follows: Blakert Whitnak, yeoman. Wife, Ann (Hem or Henn?) the use of my plantation as long as she remains my widow. My eldest son, Andres' eldest son, John, 20 shillings, son Adres' daughter, Charity, 20 shillings. Son, Blakert, 1/2 the plantation and the other half to my yougest son, John Whitnek, and if John die without issue his half to my son, Blakert's son, John. 5 shillings each of my daughters: Margret, Jean, Ann, Martha, Mary, Ketrine, Elizabeth.

BIOGRAPHY: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BIOGRAPHY: Some researchers link Henry F. Whitenah to Johannes Witeknaght (Whitenack) for the following reasons:
Family tradition states that Henry's father was named Johannes Whiteknaught
This similarity of the last names
Johannes Whitenack of New Jersey had a son named Hendrick (Henry)
Henry F. was said to be a pioneer of New Jersey
However, there is currently no evidence that conclusively links Henry F. Whitenah as the son of Johannes Whitenack. Another possibility is that Henry is related in some way to Johannes Whitenack, but not his son. Some reasons for this include:

BIOGRAPHY: There are more Whiteneck/Whitenack/Whiteknaughts during that time period than have been accounted for. For example, a Blickert Whiteknaught was living in another part of New Jersey about this time. His relationship to the Whitenacks has yet to be proven.
Henry supposedly lived to age 92, placing his birth around 1726. Hendrick, son of Johannes Whitenack was born in 1743 in New Jersey. (This recollection of Henry's age at death could also be wrong).
