Mr. Higginbotham, 70, died May 31, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a
manager at Parts and Body Shop.
Mr. Higginbotham was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., to William B. and
Pearl (Payton) Higginbotham, who are deceased.
He is survived by a son, Scott Bone; two daughters, Cindy Borst and Susan
Jensen; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cappadona's Family Service Center, 3407
N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

Victor Wayne Higginbotham (1954-2004) England/CO
MONTROSE - Longtime Montrose resident and businessman, Victor Wayne
Higginbotham, died Sunday evening, June 27, 2004, at the Montrose Memorial
Hospital 12 days after celebrating his 50th birthday.
Victor was born in Norfolk, England, on June 15, 1954, the son of Dan George and
Jewel (Williams) Higginbotham. He was an infant when he moved with his family on
Sept. 2, 1954, to Texas, then relocated to Montrose in 1969. Victor graduated
from Montrose High School and continued to pursue his education at Parrent
College in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Following his college education, Victor returned to Montrose where he made his
home until the time of his death.
He married Sue Chambers on Sept. 1, 1978, in Montrose. After 20 years of
marriage, they were divorced.
Victor was the owner and operator of Associated Precast in Montrose since 1991.
He was a member of Montrose Elks Lodge No. 1053.
The love of Victor's life was his family, friends and music. Music played a very
important part in his life. Victor enjoyed the outdoors spending time camping,
hunting, and with his animals. Precious memories of Victor will always be a huge
part of all those who loved him.
Surviving family members who were proud to share Victor's life include a
daughter, Heather and husband Tyler Gilliam, of Montrose, Colo.; two
granddaughters: Jacquelyn and Ashley Gilliam; his mother, Jewel Higginbotham, of
Temple, Texas; two sisters: Karen Hargrove, of Temple, Texas; Diane and husband
Richard Cortreras, of San Antonio, Texas; and special nieces and nephews: Jay
and Shelly Contreras, Tracie Arwood, Corey Huffman and Freeman Hargrove. His
extended family include Joey and Marla Manganello, and Marvin and Terri Yates
and wife Terri and son Dominic, all of Montrose, Colo.
Victor was preceded in death by his father, Dan Higginbotham, in 1971.
A funeral service in loving remembrance and to celebrate Victor's life will be
officiated by Minister Ronnie Hanna on Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at the
Montrose Christian Church. Interment will follow in the Grand View Cemetery,
west of Montrose.
