history, genealogy and one-name study
The name, including variants HICKLIN and ICKLING, is
derived from Cnebba Ickeling - son of Ickel the Angle who came to Britain from
Slesvig in AD 499.
Malcolm Hickling, who started in 1950 by collecting details of every
Hickling that had ever lived, will be pleased to hear from anyone interested in
the family with a view to free exchange of information.
