Lawrence Edward Lemley was born circa 1911 at Metz, WV.. He was the son of David Lemley and Bertha Dodd. He married Katherine Wise, daughter of John Wesley Wise and Narcissus V. Mason. He was a veteran of W.W.II and was wounded at Iwo Jima. He retired from the Barrackville Mine. He died on 20 November 1991. He was buried at Mannington Memorial Park, Marion Co, WV..
