Charles Hickman was born on 4 March 1876 at Dunkard Twp, Greene Co, PA.. He was the son of Isaac N. Hickman and Josephine Taylor. He was a Major League baseball player for Boston, Cleveland, Washington and Chicago. He was the Mayor of Morgatown from 1928 to 1930, and was elected Sheriff of Monongalia County in 1933. He died on 19 April 1934 at Morgantown, WV., at age 58.
