McMains Migrations to Texas

I have identified seven cousin lines of McMains that settled in Texas. There are also other McMains families that I have as of yet failed to identify.  The seven that I have identified stem from four brothers, all sons of Robert McMains. The chart below provides the paternal lineage of these seven.

Andrew Pete McMains was born in Kentucky (1817). He married in Missouri (1841), his wife's home state. He moved his family from Missouri, to Sevier County, Arkansas (1846-1849). The next move was to Texas (1852-1854). By 1860, he and his family are found in Atascosa Texas. Andrew Pete was the first of the Mcmains to settle in Texas. John Leroy McMains was born in Rapides Parish, Louisiana (1876). Exactly when he crossed over the Louisiana border into Texas is not certain. He probably married his spouse in Texas (c. 1900). Previous to this he resided in Trinity County, Texas (1900), where he shared living space with several other business partners. By 1910, he and his family had moved to Shelby County, Texas. This is the last that I know of them. Click Here for Details
