listed for head of household and slave owners.
Each entry
included a count of free white males and females, and number
of slaves, male and female according to age group.
Counts of
foreigners (not naturalized citizens), and those deaf, dumb,
or blind were included for the first time.
Native Americans
were not enumerated, unless they were tax payers.
Original records
are missing for some counties in Massachussets,
Maryland, and Mississippi.
