When asked how she met her husband, Gary, Mary replied:
My roommate and I decided to go to Russell to party. I thought she was nuts because it happened to be Sunday and there's not much open in Russell. She said she new some guys there and we would have fun. So, out of simple boredom and not much sense, I decided to go with her. Anyway, she pulled up in Gary's drive way and honk the horn. He came out (also out of pure boredom) and she asked him if he would exchange a couple of warm beers for a couple of cold ones. That's when he looked in the car and asked my roommate, "What are you doing with the most beautiful woman in the whole-wide-world sitting next to you?" Well, after Gary invited us in, he looked for his couch under this mess of clothes, and actually found it. Anyway we had a couple of beers with him and he invited us out to the legion with him. We started dancing slow dances and forgot all about the time. Thank goodness my roommate found someone she could talk and dance with. And, well we've been together every since. We started going steady the next week. |
