My
ancestor was Edward Riggs Gregory b.1862 d.1949. He took the
photograph on page 230 of Volume 1 in Adams County section of
"The Lower of
the three island and landing, Manchester" 1887. I am new to
the
genealogy world and when I did a simple Google search for his name,
your site was the only
one that came up with the right person. I have photo's of him that I
could
send
if you are interested. We even have two "tin types" of
him. Evidently he was into photograpy at one point in his
life which was good for us as he took several pictures of his wife and
family. We are also related to the R.H. (Robert Hamilton Ellison)
mentioned in the article about
Manchester. Here is a clip from the Chenowethsite.com regarding R.H.
Hamilton: (He
was the father of Francis Ellison who married Martha Shriver (Edward's

Edward Riggs Gregory's wife's brother was quite a famous guy himself.
His name was Tod Corwin Shriver and he was also from Manchester and was
a mechanic for the famous Glenn Curtiss. He was also a pilot
who lost his life in an airplane accident. Ralph Cooper has a
site about
early aviators http://www.earlyaviators.com/eshriver.htm. I
actually found a
relative I never knew about that had donated information and photos to
Mr. Cooper.
This is probably a lot more than what you wanted to know but it seems
there is a lot of great history from the little town of Manchester!
