Fairview Cemetery

Fairview Cemetery is on the Livingston County side of the McLean-Livingston County line, and is located in Belle Prairie Township. The old Fairview Methodist Church still stands. The Fairview Cemetery Association, originally formed by families who had relatives buried in the cemetery, owns the Church and maintains it and the cemetery. The following list was made in 1969 by Muriel Hoffman from the inscriptions on the stones. Recently additional information was obtained from the cemetery sexton, William Helmers, and that found in obituaries, death certificates, biographies from county histories, and the Lexington Genealogical and Historical Society. The D.A.R. published a list in 1933, which contained many errors; many markers have disappeared since that list was made. The reference numbers that appear below indicate the location of the burial sites when known. Please use the cemetery’s schematic that depicts these reference numbers to determine the location.
