The Family of William Lashley

WILLIAM CECIL LASHLEY, SR., born September 11, 1889, died May 12, 1952.  Married (1) CARRIE BYRD.  Married (2) JULIA ANN MORGAN.  Born 1905.

Children of WILLIAM and CARRIE are:

CLAUDE  LASHLEY.

Notes for CLAUDE LASHLEY ~ Claude had two daughters.  They both live in Jacksonville.  One daughter was married to Hugh Eason, and they have a son.

ERNEST "MONK" LASHLEY.

Notes for ERNEST LASHLEY ~ Ernest (Monk) died in the last five years.  He was a combat veteran of  the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg/Germany and witnessed German concentration camps.  His nerves were shot from the war and he suffered a lot from anxiety.  He did various jobs mostly house painting.  He was married (his wife survives) and had one child, Omega, and two stepchildren, boys, Bobby and ?.

Children of WILLIAM and JULIA are:

BUDDY LASHLEY.  m. LOIS UNKNOWN.

Notes for BUDDY LASHLEY:

From William Kent:  Buddy also was in the war, in Europe .  He came home and worked as a bus driver for the City of Jacksonville.  He married a woman named Lois and had one son, Wayne.  Buddy died about 20 years ago at an early age of a stroke.  Wayne and Lois survive. Wayne is a manual laborer.

MYRA LASHLEY, m. COY KNIGHT.

Notes for MYRA LASHLEY:

From William Kent:  Myra died about 5 years ago from lung cancer.   She had married Coy Knight.  They had a bunch of children.  They lived on a farm near Wellborn, Fla. The kids are Terrill, David, Cecil, and two others whose names I forget.  Terrill still lives on the farm.  David is a preacher for the Assembly of God, in a church near Atlanta, I think.  David is a very devout person. He is my age (47).  They all have children, don't  ask me their names!  Myra was a good woman.  She and my mother and Tommy were the intelligent members of the family.  Buddy and Joe were not very  intelligent.

WILLIE BELLE LASHLEY, b. August 16, 1929.

JOSEPH LASHLEY, b. 1940.

Notes for JOSEPH LASHLEY:

From WK:  Joseph was a German prisoner of war captured in northern Italy and held near Munich.  He was treated very badly and was hospitalized for a long time and in very poor condition when he finally got home.  He was a very small man and looked Italian/Spanish, dark skin, black curly hair.  My  mom has some information that there was a Spanish strain in the family from the Caribbean.  Joe had one son, James.  He lived in Hollywood, Fla. as I was growing up and then moved back home and lived on grandmother's farm.  Joe never did very well.  His wife was Ruth.  His son Jimmy has one child, a daughter, who has had a lot of problems  emotionally and developmentally.  Joe died of the complications from emphysema too.

THOMAS LASHLEY, b. 1949.

Notes for THOMAS LASHLEY:

From William Kent:  Thomas Lashley married Jeanne Hitt and has three children, Thomas Jr., a  principal of the local school and minor league baseball pitcher and  author of a vanity press novel, Brad and Clint.  Brad is also a teacher, special ed in Pensacola area, and Clint is a counselor at the Florida Boys Ranch near Live Oak.  Clint just married and had his first child,  David, who was born with a congenital defect in the liver and just had surgery at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gaineville and is not doing well.  I would ask for your prayers for little David and his family.  He may not  live.  He was their first child and is only about 6 weeks old.
