In the name of God "Amen".
1st     I Josiah Hendon of the State of North Carolina and county of Bladen do make and publish this my last will and Testament My executors will see that my body is decently buried and that my just debts are paid.

2nd   I give and bequeath unto Benjamin Fitzrandolph, Alexander MC Donnell and Isaac Wright in trust (Executors) for my daughter Margaret Williams the following negroes to wit namely John. Rustty. Old Sue. Clarissa. Tenab and his four children

3rd    It is my will that the said Negroes Peter and Jack are to be equally divided between my granddaughter Lydia Baldwin and Mary Baldwin.

4th    I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Mary White and the heirs of her body forever the first choice, the one half of the following Negroes, namely; Mariah, Abram, Ann, daughter of Mariah and her child Sarah. Abram. And Alfted and Mike. Also Bill. Peggy the daughter of old Lucy. Jane and Eliza the daughter of May. Jim. Si. Old Lucy. Tom. Mary. Sal and her four children. Namely: Tena, Duncan, Jim and Elsey. With the half of what increase the said Negroes may have at my death to be more plain respecting the first choice.

It is my will that my said granddaughter Mary White shall choose out one half of the above mentioned twenty Negroes. Namely ten with the half of their increase at my death.

It is also my will should the ten Negroes which she makes choice of with the one half of the increase they may have at my death be more valuable than the remaining ten with one half of their increase at my death she said Mary White is not to pay anything over to the other half.

5th   I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Hendon and Margaret Ann Hendon and the heirs of their body's forever the other half of the abovementioned Negroes and the increase to be equally divided between them.

6th   It is my will and desire that all of the remaining of my personal property agreeable to law and the money arising there from to be applied to the payment of what just debts I may owe at the time of my death and to
payments of any lawful debts that may come against my estate after my death. Should a balance be remaining it is my will it shall be equally divided amongst the children of my daughter Margaret Williams and the children
of my daughters Lydia Baldwin and Mary White for the promotion of their education.

7th  I give and bequeath and it is my desire that all the lands I am possessed of shall be equally divided amongst the sons of my daughter Margaret Williams and the sons of my daughters Mary White and Lydia Baldwin.
 

I hereby revoke all wills by me made and declare this to be my last will and testament. I constitute and appoint Benjamin Fitzrandolph, Alexander McDonnell and Isaac Wright Executors to this my last will and testament.
