Page 250----the above is a will of both James Steadman and his wife Nancy Coates Steadman . She is deceased at the time of Probate and her Children are listed as Elizabeth Steadman Hendon (deceased) late wife of Aaron Hendon with minor children: James Hendon, Josiah Hendon, William Lafayette Hendon, and Martha Ann Hendon.

P94 Jul 11, 1844.  Henry Stidman and Gary Barber appointed Administrators of the estate of James Stidman (Stedman) deceased, at the request of the widow, Nancy Stedman.

P117 Orphan court_ Regular Term - 2 dec 1844 Gary Barber and Henry Stidman, Administrators of the estate of James Stidman, came into court and Petitioned for the order to sell the real estate of said deceased. It was ordered by the court that the land described as West half of North East Quarter, section 20, Township 14, Range Two East; also east half of the North East quarter, Section 21, Township 14, Range 2 East, all in the Huntsville land district, be sold, reserving the widow dowry.

Jan. 12 1845 Henry Stidman and Gary Barber, as administrators of the estate of James Stidman, to Henry Stidman, the West half of North East quarter, section 20, Township 14, Range 2 East, Huntsville land district, containing 79 and 79.100 acres for the sum of sixty three and 50/100 dollars. This land was  sold at public outcry by order of the court, and Henry Stidman was the highest and best bidder. This land was situated just north of Springville, Alabama Copied at Ashville Court House by Gladys C. Smith 11- 8- 1878.

Orphans Court Minutes P. 250 February 2, 1846
Henry Stidman and Gary Barber, Administrator of the estate of James Stidman, deceased, filed their accounts and vouchers for final settlement. The court after examing, determining notices had been given according to law and no objections were made, ordered that it be recorded and distribution made as follow: $321.87 divided into nine shares of  $25.73:
   Widow, Nancy Stidman (Stedman)
   William Clement in right of his wife, Martha
   Gray Barber in right of his wife, Charlotte
   Aaron Hendon in right of his wife,  Elizabeth
   John Stidman
   James Stidman
   Jesse Stidman
