There have been a few attempts at constructing a Hendon family master file, but this is very difficult to do. Since our family does not have an official "organization",  I have decided to undertake this project.

So far, I have gathered over 5400 names and some 85,000 text records from:

• Lineage charts provided by various Hendon researchers
• The Hendons From Gunpowder River  (in progress)
• Supplement to The Hendons From Gunpowder River  (in progress)
• British (Henden) lineage provided by Graham Steer


To insure privacy, those descendants born after 1930 are not included . Therefore, this file contains the names of very few living individuals and dates are not attached to them.

I have utilized software called "GedPage" to archive our records. It displays very well and is easy to read.

The Hendons From Gunpowder River and its supplement contain some errors and this also applies to some of the lineages which I have received. Therefore, the information found in the HENDON FAMILY FILE  is not error free. PLEASE send me corrections .

This task is challenging and will take some time. Upon completion, this file will likely contain over 7000 names and at least 90,000 records (dates and places), so the effort will be ongoing. The file will be constantly updated .

Only direct Hendon descendants, their spouses, and their children are included in the file.
EXAMPLE:            James Hendon
                              Hannah Norris (wife)
                              Isham C. Hendon (son) and spouse, Patience Sugg (?)
                              Elijah Hendon (son) and spouse, Ann Green
                              Sarah Hendon (daughter) and spouse, William Nutt
                              Elizabeth Hendon (daughter) and spouse, William Olive
                              Spouses' parents are not included (unless they married a Hendon )
