Constant Peter Hendon, 84, a native of Isle Jean Charles and resident of Houma, died at 7-45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at Samart Funeral Home. Religious services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Bisland Cemetery. He is survived by five sons, Henry Hendon Sr. and Jerry Hendon Sr., both of Houma, Ronnie Hendon Sr. of Montegut, Curtis Hendon of Raceland and Lawrence Hendon of Pointe-aux-Chenes; six daughters, Theresa Verdin and Bessie Parfait both of Pointe-aux-Chenes, Alice Solet of Houma, Delores Pennington and Agnes Hendon, both of Arkansas, and Yvonne Istre of Houma; three half-brothers, Thomas Dardar Sr., Ernest Dardar Sr. and Joseph Dardar, all of Houma; two half-sisters, Marie Dardar Ledet of Houma and Gloria Dardar Crochet of Grand Caillou; 48 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aglonie Dardar Hendon; his parents, Henry Whitfield Hendon and Josephine Dardar Hendon; one daughter, Gilet Hendon; two brothers, Jack and Elie Hendon; and two grandchildren, Joseph Hendon and Albert Verdin Jr.
