H.T. HILL married MATILDA STONE (see photo below) c1860, daughter of JAMES STONE and ELIZABETH GUEST.  She was born November 27, 1835 in Johnson County, Arkansas, and died April 21, 1883 in Comanche County, Texas. Matilda was listed as "head of household" on the 1860 census of Comanche County, Texas, with her children from a previous marriage; Nancy and Martin Rhodes. H.T. Hill has never appeared on any records; census, will, etc. Matilda Stone Hill had two sons by 1865. Family legend says they were fathered by an Indian hired-hand. This is very doubtful because Matilda's brothers lived very close by and would not have tolerated such behavior! Regardless of the father's identity, the boys were:

*JOHN FRANKLIN HILL, b. 1861; d. 1880. (gunshot-accidental)
*JAMES HENRY HILL, b. January 22, 1865, Erath or Comanche County, Texas; d. January 08, 1910, Morgan Mill, Erath County, Texas.

Matilda is buried at Stone Family Cemetery, Proctor, Texas.

JAMES HENRY HILL married MARY "MOLLY" LEE in 1882 (see photo below)  in Brown County, Texas, daughter of LEVI LEE and MISSOURI GLENN.  She was born November 21, 1859 in Freestone County, Texas, and died February 26, 1900 in Brown County, Texas.  He married (2) ZULA A. MITCHELL December 14, 1901 in Brown County, Texas.  She was born 1871 in Bell County, Texas, and died November 09, 1908 in Baylor County, Texas. Jim and Molly had the following children:

MONTIE MAE HILL married Oscar Alex Stone July 22, 1915 in Knox County, Texas, son of JAMES STONE and JOSEPHINE SANDERS.  He was born June 24, 1891 in Mason County, Texas, and died September 16, 1935 in Knox County, Texas.

PHEBE LEE married JOHN LOCK STONE (see: Stone family ) November 27, 1867 in Comanche County, Texas, son of JAMES STONE and ELIZABETH GUEST.  This was the first marriage for Phebe and the second for John Lock. He was born July 18, 1839 in Barry County, Missouri, and died August 22, 1899 in Zephyr, Brown County, Texas. Both Phebe and John Lock are buried at Zephyr Cemetery, Brown County, Texas.

LEVI LEE was born 1831 in Illinois, and died Abt. 1887 in Brown County , Texas.  He married (1) MISSOURI ANNA GLENN March 06, 1856 in Freestone County, Texas, daughter of WILLIAM and ELIZABETH GLENN.  She was born 1840 in Missouri, and died 1866 in Robertson County, Texas.  He married (2) JULIA ANN COLEY in 1867. She was born February 1840 in Alabama, and died Bet. 1900 - 1910 in Brown County, Texas. Levi was a veteran of the Confederacy, serving in Company "D", 10TH Texas Infantry Regiment. Children of Levi and Missouri Lee:
