In the will of Grimston Graham dated 18 Nov 1808 at Fauld, nr Longtown, Par. of Arthuret, CUL, ENG, Abigail Scaife, Stephen Graham, Faney Scafe and Abigail Scafe were left legacies great niece Abigal Scafe (d/o "Will. Scafe & Fanny Scafe his wife") receiving £50 (part of Grimston's legacy from his brother Richard), nephew Steven (son of late brother Andrew) the oak press, niece Faney Scafe (dtr of brother David) the clock and case, niece Abigal Scafe (d/o sister Jeney) a set of silver tea spoons and sugar tongs.11 Frances Graham was named as an executrix, and beneficiary of the will of David Graham on 2 Mar 1810 at Fauld, nr Longtown, Par. of Arthuret, CUL, ENG.12All the other info
Had a bit of a problem here intially. The IGI, an extracted record, shows a Frances, dtr of a David & Bridget Graham, as baptised in Jul 1780, but dying in August. Yet her uncle Grimston Graham's will leaves her money in 1810 as a married women (Frances Scaife), so she obviously didn't die in 1780, not that I could find a likely baptism. Bridget came up trumps again however, finding a BT entry for an illegitimate Francis (sic) to David and Jane (Little). I'm reasonably happy that I now have the right Frances identified.13 Frances Graham and David Scafe in 1841 were possibly related, ?grdmother/son? David appears to be the son of a Jane Scaiffe, yet to be identified.14,15Family | William Scaife (13 May 1784 - bet 1813 - 1841) |
| Marriage* | Frances Graham married William Scaife, son of John Scaife and Jane Graham, on 19 May 1808 at Arthuret, CUL, ENG; Wit: Stephen Graham, believed to be Frances' cousin.1,4 |

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area. Corrections welcome
