Ruth V. Watson
WATERTOWN — Ruth Veronica Watson, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (Feb. 15, 2007) at her home in Watertown, Ohio.

She was born June 10, 1922, in Moundsville, W.Va., to the late Willie Woodbridge Hendershot and Bertha Louise Heintz. She lived most of her life in Watertown. She worked for the Wolf Creek School District, as a cook and custodian. She also worked at Middleswart’s Cleaners and the Glendale Road McDonald’s.

She married Gerald Dean Watson on March 28, 1942, in McConnelsville, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, Gerald, of Watertown, and four children: Jerry Lee Watson (Darlene) of Bristow, Va., Linda Louise Hearn (Clyde) of Barlow, Ohio, James Aaron Watson of Watertown, Ohio, and Charlotte Elaine Flowers (Stephen) of Vienna, W.Va.; two brothers, George Hendershot (Tarcella) of Fleming, Ohio, and Robert Hendershot of Sicklerville, N.J.; two sisters, Marie Turner of Marietta, and Paulena Shawver of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Greg Watson (Colleen) of Fishersville, Va., Lisa Watson of Williamsville, N.Y., Denise Elkins (Jesse) of Cumberland, Md., Frank Householder (Julia) of Gainesville, Va., Mike Watson, of Front Royal, Va., Travis Hearn (Charla) of Loveland, Ohio, Tracy Hearn (Brandon) of Batavia, Ohio, Trevor Hearn (Amanda) of Vincent, Ohio, Scott Flowers (Missy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Seth Flowers of Vienna, W.Va.; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, three brothers, William, John, and Walter Hendershot, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor John Harra officiating. Burial will follow in Watertown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. Saturday until the hour of service. The family will meet greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
