William C. Hendershot, 79, of Falls, died Saturday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Plains Township.

Born in Falls Township, son of the late William and A.R. Wilda Hunt Hendershot, he was a lifelong resident of the Falls Township area. Prior to his retirement, he was a machine operator for the Norris Machine Shop in Pittston. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Homrich, San Antonio, and Lynn Strle, Hammond, Ind.; a sister, Rose Ace, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Rollie; and a sister, Beulah Mathers.

The funeral will be Tuesday at noon from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Norman T. Faux, pastor, Chinchilla United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Roberts Cemetery, Falls Township.

Friends may call Tuesday, 10 a.m. until time of service.
