RALPH H. HENDERSHOT
MOUNT GILEAD -- Ralph H. Hendershot. 71, a farmer
near Mount Gilead. died 1 a.m. today in Morrow County
Hospital. He had been ill one day.
Born Feb. 9, 1890 in Mount Gilead, he was a son of
William C and Laura Wertz Hendershot. He was a
member of Mt. Tabor Church near Mount Gilead and
Williamsport Grange.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mae Hendershot; 2
daughters, Mrs. Marjory DeLuco of Clearwater, Fla.,
and Mrs. Eugene Scheidler of Galion; 2 sons, William
of Mount Gilead and Richard of Marion; 11
grandchildren, and a brother, Harry Hendershot of
Akron.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m.
in Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. Rev. Glenn
Peoples and Rev. David Cunningham will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bryn Zion Cenetery.

Ralph A. Hendershott, 74, East Lampeter Twp. leader. Ralph A. Hendershott, 74 of Bird-In-Hand died at Brethern Village Monday after a long Illnes. Mr. Hendershott was chairman of East Lampeter Township Zoning Hearing Board for 35 years. He owned Village Press for 30 years. A retired U.S. Army colonel, he had served 43 years in the military, including service in the Korean War.
He belonged to Bird-In-Hand United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, boating, crabbing, golf, hunting and traveling. Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Delbert and Edna Mae (Glinke) Hendershott. He graduated from Millersville University in 1956. He was married 52 years to Shirley Thompson Hendershott. Surviving beside his wife are two daughters, Donna, wife of Douglas Sherlock of Parkesburg, and Diane, wife of Richard Nicklaus of Lancaster, two sons, Randy, husband of Barbara Hendershot of Ronks, and Rodney of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta wife of James Keller of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert K. Hendershott and half brother, David Mochel.
