Olive Carmichael Hendershott, 92, of Springwater Road in Scottsburg died Tuesday (June 7, 1988) in Noyes Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Born Dec. 19, 1895, in Pavilion, she was a daughter of Peter and Mary Walkley Carmichael. A graduate of Geneseo Normal School and Rochester Practical Nursing School, she was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked at Dansville Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Opportunity Circle of Dansville Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hendershott was predeceased by three sons, Charles, Lloyd and Peter. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Howard Hendershott; a son, Leo of Scottsburg; a brother, Glen Carmichael of Manchester; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A service was conducted Thursday in the Chamberlin Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bender officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Groveland.
