Mary Hendershott Cambern

Mrs. Mary Cambern who has been very ill for the past two weeks, died Monday morning at her home here at the age of 85 years. Mary Hendershott, daughter of David and Rachel Hendershott, was born April 22, 1853, at Hornellsville, NY. When she was 15 she came with her parents to Preston and the remainder of her life was spent in this vicinity. On February 22, 1874 she was united in marriage to James Cambern and to them seven children were born--Ernest who died May 2, 1918, Manie of Pipestone, Mrs. William Liester of Jasper, Minn., Frank, Elvin, Mrs. Carl Henke, and Dan, all of Preston. Mr. Cambern prededed her in death December 30, 1923. Twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the home and the Methodist church, with Rec. F. V. Tannehill in charge, and she was laid to rest in the Carimona cemetery. To the childen who mourn the loss of their mother, the sympathy of all is extended.
