Leo Hendershot

SCITTSBURG -- Leo Hendershott, 76 of Springwater Road, Scottsburg, died unexpectedly Saturday (Oct. 18, 1997) at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris, where he had been a patient since Oct. 7, 1997.

Mr. Hendershott was born in Groveland Corners, Jan. 31, 1921 the son of the late Howard and Olive (Carmichel) Hendershott. Leo had been the Sparta town for many, many years.

Prior to his death Leo had been employed by the Electrolux Cleaning Systems in Hornell. Leo was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Alice Hendershott of Raleigh, N.C.; three nieces, Marilyn Dobson, Elizabeth Miller and Jule Hendershott, all of Raleigh, N.C.; five nephews, Daniel Hendershott of Dunham, N.C., David Hendershott of Harvey's Lake, PA, Timothy Hendershott of Wayland, John Hendershott of Walkill and Charles Hendershott of Warsaw. Leo was predeceased by one brother, Charles Hendershott in 1988.

Freinds may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Chamberlin Funeral Home, Inc. 73 Main St., Dansville where a Memorial Service will take place at 8 p.m.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Lakeview Cemetery, Groveland. Those wishing may make Memorial contributions to the Dansville Ambulance, P.O. Box 235, Dansville, NY 14437.
