WRIGHTSTOWN RESIDENT DIES
DEER CREEK -- Jack Hendershot, prominent resident of
the Wrightstown Community for a great many years, died
Friday, Dec. 10 in Thiel Hospital, Bertha. He fell on
Wednesday, breaking his hip. He was born in Ohio and
was 93 years old. He will be remembered by many old
timers as "Red Jack" Hendershot, to distinguish him
from othersd of his family bearing the same name.
He was a vioilinist of ability and many were the
dances, wedding parties and other occasions at which
he played, in west Compton, Oak Valley, Deer Creek
and at Wrightstown, on into the Hewitt area. Late
years he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs.
Hugh Cameron in Wrightstown. He leaves a son Arthur
Hendershot of Sebeka. The funeral was held Monday
from the Wrightstown church, with interment in the
cemetery there.
