McMinnville Man
Dies At Home
Clarence Elgin Hendershott, long time McMinnville resident, died
suddenly at his home here Wednesday afternoon after having suffered a
sudden heart attach on Third street several hours earlier.
Mr. Hendershott was proprietor of the McMinnville Machine Shop at
Fourth and Irvine streets for a number of years. He was a charger member
of the local Elks lodge and for the past five years held the position of
Tiler. He is survived by his wife, Kunnie Wagner Hendershott, whom he
married on April 18, 1908.
Funeral services, under the direction of McMinnville Lodge No. 1283
BPOE, are to be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1:30 p.m. in Macy's chapel.
Interment will be at the Evergreen Memorial park
NOTE: Second obit was from The Yamhill Genealogical Society - The obits
at YCHS are cut out and glued to 3 x 5 cards by volunteers. The notation
was also made by one. This obit did not list which paper it was from and
the only date was the hand written, incorrectly dated entry. Clarence
actually died on February 19, 1947.

Away
Clarence Hendershott, long time resident of McMinnville, who up to
about a year ago, had operated a machine shop on Irvine street, this
city, succumbed Wednesday. He became ill at ease, and expired soon after
reaching the hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Kunnie who is on the J.C. Penny Co.,
sales staff.
He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mable Garrison of this city.
He was for many years a member of the McMinnville fire department, a
member of the old Elks band.
Clarence Elgin Hendershott was born in Wisconsis July 20, 1874, son
of G.W. and Rendella T. (Weles) Hendershott.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon from Macy & Son's chapel
and the concluding rites will be in the Evergreen Memorial park.
Services will be under directrion of the McMinnville Elks lodge.
NOTE: Clarence's mother's name is misspelled. She went by Della and her
maiden name was spelt WILES in all other records. Also, in her daughter,
Mabel Garrison's obit her name is given as Randilla Alvira Wiles, which
also matches up with a World Connect Tree entry for her.
