Richard Pratt Services Set for Thursday



   OKANOGAN -- Funeral services for Richard Pratt, 22, who was killed in a Vietnam helicopter crash December 8, will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday at the Okanogan Episcopal church with the Rev. Lewis Hodgkins officiating.

   Pratt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard P. Pratt of Okanogan, lived in Okanogan most of his life. He was a 1964 graduate of Okanogan high school where he played football and ran track.

   He competed in the state low hurdle and low hurdle relays. He spent one year at Yakima Valley college where he received a football scholarship. He then transferred and spent one year at Spokane Community college.

   Pratt was a member of the Episcopal church.

   Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Judy K. Nelson of Los Alamitos, Calif.; three aunts, Mrs. Claud Caulkins of Spokane, Mrs. Margaret Harris of Moses Lake and Mrs. Gordon Keith of Eureka, Calif.; and two uncles, Norman Blair of Chelan and Ray Blair of Bremerton.

   Burial will be in the Okanogan cemetery.

   The class of 1964 of Okanogan high school has started a memorial scholarship fund in Pratt's memory. Anyone wishing to donate has been asked to send a check to the Okanogan branch of Seattle-First National bank.

   William Barnes Funeral home of Okanogan is in charge of arrangements.
