The Grabenhorst Surname in America

The Grabenhorst surname in America is found primarily in the descendents of three immigrant families who came to America in the mid 1800's from Northwestern Germany. There were also other Grabenhorst immigrants who came in the early 1900s.  Although these families don't seem to be linked directly they probably have common ancestors.  A researcher in Germany, Joachim Gravenhorst, has been researching both the Grabenhorst and Gravenhorst name in Germany and has found them to be related.
