WELCOME

To

Mariners and Miners from Devon and Cornwall.

I have recently discovered that my roots lie both in the wide waters off the Devon coast as my father's side were all master mariners, mainly in the fishing trade, from the Brixham area, and the deepest depths of the Cornish mining town of Redruth. This was my mother's line and her family were assayers and miners travelling between their hometown and Truro. I think I might even have a pit owner and a brewery owner in there somewhere!

Because I have so much research work in progress I have uploaded the file from the Family Search website maker as a basic guide to my direct parentage, and I am also in the progress of adding a more detailed site of close family links. This is more than just the bare bones of direct ancestors and will include siblings etc..

This site started on 13th June 2000 and will probably never be finished, regular updates to follow
