She was the daughter of George MACHETANZ and Catherina Elisabetha JACOB. Both Eduard and Maria are buried in the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois.

He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" FAULSTICH on 12 May 1881 in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois. She was born in Apr 1858 in Germany and died 1 Jul 1907 in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Friedrich "Fred" FAULSTICH and Catherine HABERKORN. Both George and Lizzie are buried in the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois.
  2. Elisabeth "Elise" FISCHER born 14 Sep 1855 in Vacha, Sacshen-Weimer-Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany and died 14 Jan 1950 at Sunny Pine Lodge, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. She married John MARTIN on 25 Apr 1878 in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois. He was born 24 Aug 1855 in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois and died 2 Apr 1931. He was the son of William B MARTIN and Mary Anna ALT. Both Elise and John are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.

On 20 Mar 1923, in Bishop, Inyo County, California, he married Lucy Beatrice PICKER. She was born 24 Jul 1902 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah and died 28 Sep 1996 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. She was the daughter of Wilhelm and Dorathea PICKER.
