In 1761 Elizabeth Goodrum was born to John Gooderham bc 1725 and his second wife, Elizabeth Buxton. Both of Elizabeth's parents were born in the parish of Gissing, NFK. There is an entry in the Gissing AT's for the baptism of a John Gooderham Dec 19, 1725. This date makes this John a candidate to be the husband of Eizabeth Buxton and the father of Elizabeth Goodrum, but the connection is unproven. This John's parents were listed as Edward Goodderhum and Mary. In a transcription of the
surviving portions of the Gissing parish records, there is an entry for
a marriage of Edward Gooderhum and Mary Munnings. The date is 1717. This
couple may be Elizabeth Goodrum's (bc 1761)
grandparents. Elizabeth Goodrum, and her partner and eventual husband, James Turner, had the following children, all bearing their mother's surname of Goodrum. (James was already married. He did marry Elizabeth on 07 Apr 1812 in Fundenhall, after his first wife died.) James...was
born in 1781. I don't have any further record on James. ********************************************************************************* James....bc
1816. Married Sarah
FORSTER.
