on on 18 December 1855 in Van Buren county, Michigan; William B.
Havens sold 24 acres off South end of NW 1/4, Sec 22 T4,R16 to
son, William Henry Havens. The rest of this parcel is the
cemetery in Keeler. This transaction may be recorded twice. (see Book
O; p211 5 March 1861 or Vol O, p627 which was 18 Dec 1855. The
witnesses to this land transactions were C. G. George, future husband
of William's daughter Dolly, and W. B. Fowler, the father of his
daughter Jane's husband, David.8 |

Charles George. In this household are Charles C or G. George, his
two children and her two children. They were married within the year.
Note: She has property of her own. $1200 of real estate and $200 of
personal. She was born in New York. Her oldest child was born in New
York and her younger child was born in Michigan. She is 35 years old
and husband, Charles C. George is 49 years old. His real property is
valued at $3500 and personal property at $800. Charles is a Wagon
Maker. They are living very close to her parents, William and Hannah
Havens. Dolly's daughter Mary is 10 and son Wesley is 7.9 |

on 28 March 1865 at Keeler, Van Buren county, Michigan, as JP; Charles
is actually William's son in law. William was 75, Fanny Tyler was
66. She came from Hartford. Witnesses were a daughter of William, Dolly
A. George and John W. Watkins. (This John W. could be John Wesley
Watkins, son of Dolly by her first husband.) Dolly's first
husband was Marshall Watkins. Since Fanny's first ?? husband James
Hastings died in 1865 she was not a widow very long. The listing for
the marriage on Van Buren marriages on Rootsweb gives 1866 which is not
correct. I have a copy of the original marriage registration.10,11 |

taken on 22 July 1870 in the Village of Keeler, Van Buren county,
Michigan. Charles is 59 years old and born in VT, a painter and was
$1000 real and $1200 personal property. Dolly is his wife and is 45
years old, born in New York. Wesley Watkins who is the only child in
household. He is 16 and born in New York. Wesley may be on this census twice. . He may also be with Henry Old and wife, 'M' in Hartford, as 16 years old.13,5,14 |

taken 19 June 1880. Charles George is 68 years old, a painter, born in
VT, parents born in NH; wife DOLLA, ( who is actually Dolly) is 55,
born in NY and her parents were born in CT. They have a 9 year old
granddaughter living with them, Dolla Olds, born in Michigan, father
born in MI and mother born in NY. This Dolly would have been born
about 1871. This was the daughter of Mary Watkins and Henry OLDS.16 |
