Birth circa 1610 Samuel was born circa 1610 at Denton, Lancastershire, England.1

 Deacon Samuel Hyde came to America in 1639 on the ship Johnathan from London, England, and was the second settler of Cambidge Village,Mass. He was a Deacon of the First Church of Cambridge Village (now Newton).2   His brother Jonathan also came at this time.  They settled in Cambridge Village, now Newton about 1640. Samuel  purchased land with his brother in 1647.

Marriage circa 1641 Samuel Hyde married Temperence Crompton, daughter of Thomas Crompton and Ann Buckley, circa 1641 in Newton, Masssachusetts. Some say they were married about 1630 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This seems early, especially since their first children were twins, born in 1642.1
