Birth circa 1858  Abbie was born circa 1858 in Ohio. When she was married in 1875 she claims to be 17 years old, therefore born ca 1858.  A note on the funeral record indicates that she was born in Trumbull county, Ohio on 2 April 1857.    There is a NELLIE Niblick who is 2 years old living in Warren, Trumbull county, Ohio on the 1860 census.  Father Jas. is 27 years old born in Pennsylvania and mother is Mary,  26 born in Ohio.  Jas. is a butcher. On the 1900 US census she claims to have been born in October of 1857. 13

 
Marriage 1 Aug 1875  Abbie Niblick married Alexander Frank Eastman, who was 21 years old,  son of Rev William W Eastman and Sarah J Baker, 1 August 1875 in Cambria, Hillsdale county, Michigan. Her name is from the 1880 census. But on the marriage register for Hillsdale county her name is given as NIBLACK. Alexander was 21 years old, a farmer, Abbie was 17. Both living in Cambria. They were married by W. W. Eastman, who we believe to be the father of Alexander.4

 
Moved circa 1878  It appears that Abbie Niblick and Alexander Frank Eastman moved to Wisconsin about 1878 from Michigan, as oldest child was born in Michigan in 1877 and younger child born in Wisconsin in 1879.5

 
Cen1880 1880  Abbie Niblick shows in the household of Rev William W Eastman (Father in law)  on the 1880 census of South Wayne, LaFayette county, Wisconsin.  William is a 61 years old "pretcher" on this census. Born in Canada, father born in New York and mother born in Vermont. Wife is Sarah J., 45 years old, so she could be a second wife. Son Alexander, his wife Abba, and children are also in this household. Daughter Ella M is 15 and still at home. Ella was born in Minnesota so it is likely that William was living in Minnesota about 1865. At this time they are living next door to Ellis McKnight.6

 
Cen1880 1 June 1880  Abbie Niblick shows on the 1880 census in Wayne township, LaFayette county, Wisconsin taken 1 June 1880. Alexander's family is in household of William W. Eastman, his father, as 26 year old, married, wife, Abba is 23, both born in Ohio. Oldest child, William is 3 years old and was born in Michigan, and younger, John is 1 year old and born in WI.5

12 May 1885  On the Minnesota state census done in 1885 Alexander Frank is living either with parents or next door. He appears as AF Eastman, 31 years old and born in Ohio. Wife is Abe, who is 27 and born in Ohio. Children are:
William 9 born in Michigan
John 6 born in Wisconsin
Arthur 4, born in Wisconsin
Albert 2, born in Wisconsin.
 
Cen1900 1900  Abbie Niblick and Alexander Frank Eastman appear on the 1900 U.S. census in Grants Pass, Josephine county, Oregon. Alexander Frank Eastman appears as Frank on this census. He was born in Ohio in October of 1852 and is employed as a Drayman. Wife is Abbie, who was born in Oct of 1857 in Ohio. She has had 9 children and all are living, 8 in this household.

Children are:
William born June 1875 in Michigan, a brick mason, 24
Arthur born March 1881 Wisconsin a day laborer, 19
Albert born May 1883 in Wisconsin, 17
Bertha born Sept 1885 in Minnesota, 14

1908  Some time between 1906 and 1908 Edwin tells us that his family moved to Portland from Grants Pass. He often said that the family drove a horse and wagon to Portland, and that he had helped drive. He would have been 13-14 years old.

Cen1910 1910  Abbie Niblick and Alexander Frank Eastman show on the U.S. Census for 1910 at Woodstock Ave, Portland city, Ward 8, Multnomah county, Oregon. Frank is 57 years old, born in Ohio, father born in Canada and mother born in Ohio. He is a teamster and married for 34 years. Wife is Abby who is 53 years old, born in Ohio, father born in Virginia and mother born in Pennsylvania. She has had 9 children and all are living.

Son Arthur is 29, employed by an oil company
George F is 19 and employed as a laborer in a can company
Edwin R is 15
Clarence H is 12
John R is 31, a butcher. It appears that he has been married to Sarah C., who is 22 for 1 year but there is a Gertrude Eastman who seems to be their daughter who is 7 years old. Was John  married previously??? Or is this Gertrude the daughter of another son of Frank and Abby?? Or is she only 1 year old??7

Cen1920 16 Jan 1920  Abbie Niblick and Alexander Frank Eastman show on the 1920 U.S. census in apartment on East Taylor street, Portland city, Multnomah county, Oregon. Frank is 67 years old, born in Ohio. It appears that he is a busman for the East Side Transportation company. Wife is Abbie who is 62 years old, born in Ohio. They are living in an apartment that they rent. Son William C is living here, but claims to be married. No wife shows. William is 43 years old, born in Michigan and employed as a teamster. They also have an unrelated roomer.

Daughter Alice and son Albert (of Frank and Abbie) are living next door and two doors down.8

Cen 1930 1930  Abbie Niblick shows on the 1930 census, outside Dundee city, Yamhill county, Oregon, in the household of Clarence Herman Eastman and Edith Muriel Van Blaricom.  Clarence H is 33 years old, born in Oregon. He is a grocery merchant. Wife of 11 years is Edith who is 34 and born in Washington state. Mother Abbie is a widow, 73 years old, first married when 19 years old. Children of Clarence and Edith  are:

Census 1940  Alice Asher and her mother Abbey Eastman are living at 5017 Walton, Los Angeles, California. They are both widows. Abbey is 83 years old, born in Ohio, She lived at the same place in 1935. Alice is 52 years old in Minnesota. She is employed as a maid in a rooming house. Both Alice and her mother have had
8 years of schooling.10

Death 8 Nov 1946  Abbie died on 8 November 1946 at Dayton, Yamhill county,  Oregon.11 
Burial   Abbie and Alexander are buried in Portland, Oregon in Multnomah park cemetery. There are only cement temporary type markers.12   It appears that they did not have a deed or any paper work for this plot and were given permission to bury there with some reservations.


A handwritten note on the funeral papers says:
"she was born at Trumble Co., Ohio in 1857, April 2nd..that they came to Portland in 1906 where they lived until Mr. Eastman'd death in 1922--since Mr. Eastman's death, Mrs. Eastman has made her home with her daughter and son in law "Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Miller until she fell asleep in Jesus on Nov. 8th."
