Cen1870 28 August 1870 Sara Winters appears on the 1870 census taken on 28 August 1870 in Morrison, Whiteside county, Illinois Living with ELY family in Morrison, Whiteside, IL. Sara is 16 years old. born in Germany. living at res 234.237.p 26 . There is a Theadore Winters in town also. He says he was born in NY. 24 years old. Could not find Sarah's parents in Morrison.3

Marriage #1 between 1870 - 1873 Sara Winters married (?) Dalfus between 1870 and 1873.1  

Marriage #2 circa 1875 Sara Winters married Fritz Mayer circa 1875. On the 1880 census they have a child that is recorded as being 4 years old, BUT there also is a child in this household that is listed as a step son of Fredrick, therefore likely the child of Sarah who was born in Illinois about 1874.1,4

He is 31 years old, a stone mason, born in Baden. Wife is Sarah, 25, born in Baden. Children are Louisa 4 and Emma 1, both born in Illinois. Step-son Charles Dalfue or Dalfus is 6 years old, born in Illinois.5

Cen1900 1900 Sara Winters shows on the 1900 U.S. census in E Wall Street, Morrison city, Whiteside county, Illinois. Fritz appears as Fred Mayer. He is 51 years old, born in May 1849 in Germany. He came to this county in 1869 and is a naturalized citizen. He is a stone mason. Wife of 25 years is Sarah who is 46 years old, born in Sept of 1853 in Germany. She has had 8 children and all are living. (all in this household except for the son by Dalfus).

Cen1910 15 April 1910 Sara Winters shows on the U.S. Census for 1910 at 506 E Wall Street, Morrison, Whiteside county, Illinois.   Fritz/ Fred is 62 years old, born in Germany and is a stone mason. He entered the United States in either 1867 or 1869 and is a naturalized citizen. Wife is Sarah. She is 55 years old, born in Germany and entered the United States in 1867 or 69. This is her second marriage. She has had 9 children, 8 of whom are living. Two children are still at home. Henry who is 20 and is a Barber with his own shop and Florence who is 13. Both were born in Illinois. Sarah's father is George Winter, who is 90 year old widower. He arrived in the US in 1869 and is still an alien. His language is German. Everyone else speaks English. Sarah's brother, Henry is 52, single, entered the US in 1867 and is a naturalized citizen. He is a carpenter.6

Daughter Emma was living in Texas at the time of the death of neice Lucille, daughter of Emma's brother Frank. Mother Sarah was living also.7

Find  death, Texas,  ca 1945 No real evidence that she was living as late as 1940. Did she really die in Texas????

In 1976 There is a Vera Fowler Angel with an address of 1221 South 10th St Clinton , Iowa 52732 who is somehow related to Sara Winter.  Florence Meyer, Daughter of Sara, says that Sara Winter and Vera's mother were cousins. But Doreathea asked that no one write to her. Strange.1
