February of 1830. She has had 2 children, none of whom are living. A
cousin, Susan Hensler is 23, born in Nov of 1876 in Illinois. She is a

Salmonson, 32 years old, a widow. On the 1930 census she says that she
was first married when 28. Elsie would have been 28 about 1915.5 Since
in 1910 Elsie is listed as a stenographer in an abstract office and in
1917 Henry claims to be an "abstractor", suspect that is how they met. Henry died ca 18 February 1919 in Morrison, Whiteside county, Illinois. |

widow, born in Illinois, owns her house and is listed as the head of
the household. Daughter Elsie appears as Elsie C. Salmonson, 32 a
widow. Daughter EllaMae is married to George W. Green. They are both 29
years old. He is a general farmer. |

appears that this was a second marriage for both. Elsie says that she
was first married when 28 and that was her age when she married
Salmonson. Lee says that he first married when he was 26 and is 47 in
1930 therefore he must have married before also.6 |

This census was recorded on on 3 April 1930. Caroline appears as Carrie
Feldman on this census. She is a 70 year old widow. She owns as $6000
house and has a radio. Daughter Elsie and her second husband are living
in the same household. Elsie is 42, first married when 28. Her husband is Lee S Steiner, 47, a grocery store owner. He was first married when 26. There are no children.6 |
| Note | 1962 | In 1962 Florence Mayer says that this woman
is living on West Main Street in Morrison, Illinois. She does not say
if Mr. Steiner is living or not.7 He may have died about 1959 as there is an obituary in the Sterling Daily Gazette on
13 March 1959. Problem is that it appears that his wife at this
time was Maude Rounds!! Does that mean that Elsie and Lee were
divorced???? Or is this an obituary for his first wife and THEY
were divorced?? |
