| Marriage | 6 October 1869 | Alice N Day married Zara J
Godfrey, son
of Joseph
Godfrey and Nancy
(?), 6
October 1869 in Ionia county, Michigan. On the 1870 census they say
that they were married in October of the last year.3 |
| 1910 1920 |
On the 1910 census they are living in Wilcox, Newago county,
Michigan. Zara is on this census as JARA Godfrey. He is 64
years old, married once for 40 years to Alice who is 55 years
old. Again she claims have been born in Canada. She has had
6 children and only 1 is living. The living child would be
Arthur. They have a boarder named Alice Day who is 16 years old,
born in Kansas. Likely a niece or other relative. Not their child. In 1920 Alice is living with son Arthur and his wife Eva Florence Backus in Wilcox, Newaygo county Michigan. Alice is 67 years old and born in Canada which we do not feel is correct. Actually we believe that she was closer to 69 years old and more likely she was born in Ionia county, Michigan. She is a widow but does not know how long she was married. |
