children of Ellen are Ida 9, Martha 8, Catherine 6 and Melvin 2.4
|Death||14 Jan 1913||Peter died on the 14th of January 1913 in Blue Ridge, Forrest
county, Pennsylvania. The is buired in Asbury cemetery in Clarion
Obituary for Peter Rossey
ROSSEY PETER – January 30, 1913 – A man who was born in 1836 on the old Rossey homestead, cleared up, built and established in the North Corner of Clarion township by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rossey, who came from the eastern part of the state, died at the home of his sons on Blue Ridge, Forest County, January 14, 1913, aged 77 years. The body of the deceased was brought to the old home in Clarion township and was taken to Asbury church where it was given interment, Rev. W. S. Gearhart, officiating.
Mr. Rossey was married twice. His first wife was Lucinda Showers and to them were born four children, namely: Charles and William Rossey of Blue Ridge; Mrs. Daniel Cook of Raughts Mills, Elk County. Sometime after the death of his wife, Mr. Rossey and Miss Ellen Hannold were married and of this union the following children survive: Mrs. Art Bailey, Mrs. David Walters, Mrs. William Walters, of Hominy Ridge; Melvin Rossey of Clarion township, Clyde and Earl Rossey of Blue Ridge, and Grace Rossey whose wedded name is not known, and Mrs. Rosa Fitzgerald of Marienville. Mrs. Rossey is also survives by three brothers and three sisters: Charles Rossey whose whereabouts are unknown; Frank and John Rossey of North Corner, Clarion township; Mrs. Sarah Coleman, Mrs. Jacob Reitz and Miss Margaret Rossey, all of DuBois. Mr. Rossey was a hard working industrious man, respected by all who knew him. The family have the sympathy of all in their loss.
