Cen1880 1880 Arthur Godfrey shows in the household of Zara J Godfrey on the 1880 census of Bowne township, Kent county, Michigan.  Zara is 37 years old, but now he says that he was born in Michigan. He is a farmer. Wife is Alice who is 29 years old. They have two children, Arthur 10 and Lillian 5. 
Marriage 1 January 1890 Arthur Godfrey, 19 years old, married Eva Florence Backus, who was 22 years old, , daughter of Sewell W Backus and Barbara E Havens, 1 January 1890 in Odessa, Ionia county, Michigan.1

a daughter whose name we can not read but may be Lulu is 9 years old, born in June 1891.
Son Dwight or Voight, bo March 1894, 6 years old
Son Otto, born May 1986 is 4 year old.

Cen1920 2 January 1920 Arthur Godfrey shows on the 1920 U.S. census in Wilcox, Newago county, Michigan. Arthur N. not M, is a 49 year old farmer. Eva F is 53. Son Voight E is in this household as a 25 year old widower. He is in Electrical construction. Son Wilbur is 16. The mother of Arthur, that is Alice M, is 67 years old and born in Canada. They are renting their farm.6 
Cen 1930 11 April 1930 Arthur Godfrey and Eva Florence Backus were found on the 1930 US census taken on on 11 April 1930 in  Colorado Springs, El Paso county, Colorado. Arthur M Godfrey is 59 years old, born in Michigan and employed at a reduction mill. He was first married when 20 years old to Eva F who is 63 years old. Father of Arthur was born in Michigan and his mother was born in Canada. Eva's father was born in New York and her mother was born in Michigan. She was 22 when first married. They own their home valued at $2500 but do not have a radio. 
 Death 1954 Arthur died in Colorado Springs Colorado and is buried in Fairview cemetery in plot AO2   071 with wife Eva and son Wilbur.  Daughter Luta/Leita and her husband are buried in adjoining plots.
