Mary Watts    wife #1 of 1st cousin 8xR
#20292

Birth

ca 1690

This from Barrington Havens on Longislandgenealogy.com  NO PROOF.

Marriage circa 1735 Mary Watts married Joseph Edward Havens, son of Jonathan I Havens and Hannah Brown, circa 1735. This Mary Watts is not likely the sister of Hon. John Watts, as that Mary Watts married a man named Riggs about 1732 and died about 1736.  If Mary's birth date is correct she would have been about 55 years old.  Therefore we suspect that there is some error here.  And if she really had a daughter in 1765 she would have been 75 years old.  Not likely!!!!!

We assume that Joseph married Mary before he married Jermina as Mary died first, but we do not know for sure. No marriage record has been found,  tho' there is a marriage record for Joseph and Jermima.   Jemima died before Joseph also after the birth of her one son. Mary was the widow of John Watts so this is her married name of  Watts  not her birth name.

http://longislandgenealogy.com/HavensFamily/Fourth.htm quoting from Barrington Havens work:
JOSEPH HAVENS-- son of Jonathan & Hannah (Brown) Havens bca  1714 died May 31 1775 married 1) Mary Watts widow of John; she b 1690 (1693 -- R13) d Aug 20 1768 -- R13 (Aug 2 1768 -- R16); he m 2) Nov 22 1769 Jemima Glover b 1744 d May 18 1772 ae 28 (R13) issue, second marriage:

 Joseph--520 b May 18 1772 d Oct 13 1775
Cynthia --5551

IT is POSSIBLE that Joseph and Cynthia were NOT the grand children of Joseph Havens.  But rather the children of Capt. Joseph Havens.  The note that appears on the transcription of  the will may be an error, since it appears that the Joseph that was the son of Jemima died young.  The older Joseph, son of MARY and Joseph could be Captain Joseph Havens.
