Cen1870 9 July 1870 Elizabeth Case and Joseph R Hannold appear on the 1870 census taken on 9 July 1870 in Rootstown township, Portage county, Ohio. On this census Joseph appears as Joseph HamoJoseph is a 66 year old farmer, born in New Jersey. He owns $4000 of real estate and $600 of personal property. He can not read or write. Wife is Elizabeth. She is 47 and born in Connecticut. It appears that two of her children from a former marriage are in this household. Louise is 18, a dressmaker and Porter is 13. Both born in Ohio. Son William is living two door away with the mother of his new wife, Mary.2

Cen1900 1900 Elizabeth Case shows on the 1900 U.S. census in Randolph township, Portage county, Ohio. Elizabeth is living alone. She is a widow, 77 years old, born in Ct in April of 1823. Next door, or possibly in the same house is Mary Case a widow, born in CT. She is 71. Suspect that these two women were Sister-in-laws.
