The Beginning
Jacob Hasselbeck is the son of Stephan Hasselbeck and Margarite Huber and was born in Steinfeld, Germany on March 14, 1819 and Katherina Bart was born in Bavaria about 1817. It appears that Jacob and Katherina came over with Jacob's brother Philip.
They married in the late 1830's or early 1840's. They had five children, three boys and two girls. The boys were Stephen, Martin & Jacob. The girls were Elizabeth and Margaret.
The family emigrated to the United States arround the late 1860's and settled arround Buffalo, New York.
