     Our particular branch of the Family came into being in 1920, with the birth of my Father Donald Jack Gowing. He never knew his father and grew up in Walthamstow, East London with his Mother Sarah Ethel Gowing and his Grandfather George Carsten Hollings. In 1940, with the War looming he married Winifred May Deacon in Chingford, Essex, and they went on to produce seven children (of which I am but one). She died suddenly in 1986. Sixty nine years and seven children were etched in every line on her face, but we know she is forever with us. 

Donald Jack died in May 2005 after living a life of leisure in the East Riding of Yorkshire with a new partner Clarice.
