Theatre Royal Cheltenham
will open for the 2nd season on Tuesday May 9th, under the Management of Mr Crisp. Who presents his most grateful respects to the Nobility, Gentry, and Visitors of Cheltenham, whose former favors he has much pleasure to acknowledge and hopes by a steady perservance in that regular and correct plan which obtain'd the flattering patronage and approval of a large portion of the Nobility to merit a continued share of their distinguished favors.Several Performers from the London Theatres will occasionally appear, and many new to the Cheltenham Audience are added to the established favorites of last year.-- A considerable alteration has been made in the Chandelier, which will now be suspended much nearer to the Pit, and the circle for the display of light enlarged and improved by Mr Collins, (the Maker) so as greatly to increase the effect, and equalize the distribution of the Gas. Theatre
Royal Edinburgh dated August 8th 1821. The unprecedented success which continues to attend the performance of the second part of Shakespeare's KING HENRY the FOURTH at the Theatre-Royal Covent-Garden, having induced the Proprietors of that Theatre as considerably to prolong their season as to preclude all hopes of Mr ISAACS arriving here in sufficient time to appear with Miss WILSON and as the numerous engagements which Mr T WELCH has entered into for that Young Lady renders Delay on her Part impossible. Mr HUCKEL to prevent any disappointment, has, in the kindest manner, consented to perform the Character of Artabaces in the Opera of ARTAXERXES, and MR HORN has, with equal kindness undertaken that of Artabanes. |
