Dr. and Mrs. Thompson were living in Lowndes County, Miss, near the plantation of her uncle, Isham Harrison, in 1846, at which time Isham wrote to his brother James Harrison, Jr. at Andersonville, SC: "Claricy is near us. A precious good woman...has seen much trouble. Dr. Thompson has made some money by his profession and speaks of moving to Memphis. He thinks the world is wrong side out....all wrong, medicine, politics, government, religion...Claricy has four sons and two daughters with her, and a son and daughter in Sumter, AL." This letter was in the possession of Mrs. Claude Tate of Waco, TX in 1979. (no further information on this family) [S14]
