Notes

Elizabeth was the Grand-daughter to the Earl of Louden in Scotland. During the Civil War, a Yankee gunship fired toward their house at Creola Landing in Montgomery. Betsy walke onto her porch and scolded Union Admiral Porter. Following this Admiral Porter ordered a cease-fire. It is also reported that her Husband Dr. T.O. Harrison showed a mason sign to the the Admiral for which he acknoledged and stopped the firing.
